Our New Name

On September 1st, Postcards from Jubilee Station will change our name to Postcards from Neighborful Station. This page will explain how we’re going to make this change, and why.

Timeline of Changes

  • August 20th/21st: Soft launch of Neighborful Station website on our new hosting and membership platform, Ghost. Join links and buttons on the old site will point to the new Join page. Yep, we’re migrating the site and member platform right now, too. My Gramps always said it’s never a good time for anything, so…. 🤷
  • August 23rd/24th: Full transition of website, with redirect of old URLs to new site. Episode transcript links will be updated in episodes, and notice of the pending name change will be added to all episodes. ⚠️
  • September 1st: Revised episodes, with all mentions of the town and show name updated, will be released. Show name will officially change on Spotify and Apple. This is also when I’m intending to roll out the Sleep Editions for every episode. 🎧😴

Why Change Now?

When I started this project in early 2025, I wanted to find a name that reflected the hopes and joys that I was feeling about this new work. The term “jubilee” is an old one, full of both historical meaning and modern inspiration. It resonated with me. I played around with some combos of place name words, and discovered that “Jubilee Station” was a fairly unique name in the US.

What I did not realize when I started is that a popular YouTube channel goes by the name Jubilee. The founder actually chose that name at the start of his own journey for many of the same reasons I made my choice. But over time, his project has evolved.

We are doing very different things.

I’ve decided to change the name of my show because I want to make sure we don’t confuse people. I haven’t been sued, and I haven’t received any stern letters from lawyers. I’ve just come to the conclusion that people deserve clarity, from both me and the other guys. They aren’t the first to use the term Jubilee for their work, but they’re the loudest voice using it right now.

Our town’s new name, Neighborful Station, is more unique online, and more evocative of what we’re doing here as a community.

Thanks so much for bearing with me through this change.

Kind regards, Michael
